Father of the nation taught and trained his people, to fight adversities with the weapon of non-violence.

 Mahatma Gandhi

Came as  traders , they   turned  into  rulers.

  They  overpowered  and  plundered.

  They  conquered   and   looted.

  They  trounced  and  whitewashed.

He came   to the fore  and  disputed.

 We  stood   behind  and   supported.

He   was  the  man  who   discerned  the  nation.

He   was   the  man  who  revived  its  natives.

He  was  beaten  on  the  left,

And  then  he  took  it  on  the  right.

We  were  beaten   left   and  right.

The   throbbing   did  pierce  down.

We let  the  lathies  fall  upon  us,

Let  the  bullets  perforate  us.

Only  to  let  the  resilience   awaken,

And to let   the   gallantry   empower.

The  throbbing  did  pierce  down,

And  lit  a  spark  on  sleeping   spirits.

That  little  spirit  lamp  was  set  glowing.

Under in its  glow  we  could  realize.

We  stood  realized, we  stood  strengthened.

We  stood   reinforced and  we stood  empowered.

They   too   realized,  and  they  took in.

They   shook  hands  and  they  took   leave.
