He’s really put a scare in us!
(one of my sister’s three outdoor cats)
Tigger Tigger Tigger
You gave us such a scare
As for two days in a row
We didn’t see you anywhere.
We walked up the roads and down the roads
Through the days and through the nights
We called your names a million times
Looking for the glow of your eyes with flashlights.
We checked the yards We checked the woods
We searched everywhere we could think
Time passed by with no signs of you
With the thoughts in our heads our hearts began to sink.
Then finally very late last night
Our flashlights your eyes did hit
You found your way back home
Though not feeling good a bit.
You were so cold and listless
Your breathing seemed hard to come
Rubbing your cold spots and giving constant kisses
Today thank God you’re better some.
We stayed up most of the night with you
Giving you lots of TLC
Whispering loving thoughts to you
And today a bit better you seem to be.
We called the vet at 3 a.m.
Deciding to wait till morn
Not really sure what we should do
Only knowing how our hearts were torn.
We prayed to God to make you well
Reminding Him what a Great Cat You Are
And it seems that He was listening
As you’re feeling much better yet not up to par.
So throughout this day we’ll keep you inside
Monitoring how you seem to feel
Hopefully today you’ll drink some water soon
And as the day goes, maybe, you’ll even have a little meal.
We know you’re not out of the woods yet Dear Tig
But our faith says that you’ll get well
So I’ll stop writing for a little while
And go back in to visit with you for a spell.
We’ve asked God to put His blessings and favor
Upon you and all throughout
Which has put a little bit of peace in our hearts
Believing you’ll get well without any doubt.
