A short contemporary poem…

On a day when phones can ring themselves to sleep

As hours slip slowly, going on their way

I sit beside the foaming windswept sea

Letting life, like spam mail, swiftly pass my eye.

Waves smash the lonely sandy beach and vanish

The sun goes down and slips beneath my view

The sky unfurls its scroll of glistening stars

And I neither miss the office work or you!

Time out and time to think is often needed

Let emails fly like cormorants and terns

Files can go heap on desks like sandy castles,

While I sit beside the sea for time for me!

Yup, taking some time out and turning all the modern gadgets off, is something we should do every now and again. That’s the time for self reflection.

Wonderful. Time is something I ponder quite often. Like money, we should spend it wisely.
