Watching the clock doesn’t hold back time.
Time has a way of moving along
As I walk in the park and sing an old song
As I’m watching the sunrise that hides behind clouds
As I’m creating a thought while thinking out loud
Things have a way of getting to me
So I heat up some water for a hot cup of tea
I won’t worry or wonder for life is too short
To ponder away at events that won’t sort
People are crazy then cool at some time
They run around hazy they ring their own chime
Till somebody stops them and asks are you well
The answer is maybe yet I’m not going to tell
Time has its way of moving along
One day you are weak the next you are strong
Your body finds reasons to hold back at times
Then you scream out in horror “Getting old is a crime!”
Try not to let the clock have its way
Tomorrow will come and you’ll call it a day
As the next one appears you may trouble and fear
Though the clock says wait till tomorrow appears
Time will go on it’s a bet all will win
So don’t spend the hours thinking of nonsense and sin
Put your time to the test be the best you can be
Then as time moves along you can spend some with me.
