Life Lesson: Never make someone a priority who sees you only as an option.

Sitting, waiting for a call that never comes
My whole day shot
I was willing to be an afterthought
Once all of your more important appointments
With more important people
Were over and done
Would you remember your promise
To see me today
To spend that time you once thought
So special and invaluable
Now pushed into the dark recesses
Of your mind, a forgotten file taken out
Occasionally dusted off
At your convenience
In the meantime I wait
Having made no plans, I wanted to be
Available to you should I be needed
But this day was simply time wasted
That I can never reclaim
The only bright spot being
I now know exactly where I stand
