A poem that came to me while watching an old couple on a bench, who can guess the lives they led, people see old and fragile and forget that they were once young and vibrant with hopes and dreams for the future.
Hope you like it.

Timeless

The mists of time play games in my mind
it seems only yesterday I first held your heart
in my hands like a pure white dove,
afraid to hold too tightly,
but scared to let you go
Everyday was sunny and warm,
not a cloud in our sky,
old age a distant dream that seemed
another lifetime away.
Your skin was peaches in my hands,
your hair like silken threads,
your smile lit my life and
your kiss from ruby lips made me a king.
Now here we sit,old and grey,a life so short
gone in the blink of an eye,
young people walk by
 not seeing,nor caring
I still see the girl before me,
my memory fades but she will never age,
love is immortal,timeless,
replayed over centuries
our love is still as fresh as a spring morning,
awaiting a new lifetime together
