More horrible angsty teenage poetry, and my anecdotes in restrospect.

If figured it was time to subject you all to round two of my torrid teenage poetry.  Its been a depressing week, so I figured I needed another laugh.  But before I get into it, I thought I’d share a story related to one of the poems I’m going to share this time around.

This next poem was inspired by a silly dream I had after a disastrous social interaction I had my freshman year of high school.  Basically, I was dumped.  Oh yes, rejection was a life-ending event in those days.  That night, I dreamt of a giant wall.  On the wall, in the center, was a hole just small enough to peer through.  On the other side, I saw a wedding.  My own wedding.  Except, I was marrying myself.  For some strange reason, I started screaming and pounding on the wall for the farce to stop.  I have no idea what this dream was, but it made me wake up. I wrote this cringe-worthy poem soon after:

Pieces
Scattered among the ground
Picking up the slivers
Pieces of my life
Never making a recovery
Things fell all apart
They will never be the same
Hoping I an make it through
One day with out you
You were the one with strength
I was just hanging on
3 months ago today
We said our goodbyes
I cried, You smiled
Said we’d meet again
Pieces of my heart broken
And in your hands
Please tell me why
You can’t place them back
Together again.
Somehow
Our lives go on
Time travel through
We stand in the rain
But somehow survive
Hunger pangs
Unquenchable thirsts
We strive and thrive
Never-ending quest
No silver lining to this cloud
Thunderclouds coming in
Wounds breaking open
Nothing is real
Life is not fair
But somehow, we survive.

Apparently I was a bit delusional, or extremely emotional, because it was one of those relationships that one forgets about within a few days.  I don’t even remember the guy’s name.  But in retrospect.. he was a douche.   Heh.  Well folk, that’s all I got for now.  I’ll add another one just for giggles, though.

Emotion
Love consumes your heart
Anger takes over your soul
Mindless chatter
Thoughtless laughter
What does it all mean
Envy makes you green as jade
Madness turns you red
Emotions define everyone
And who you are inside
Passion engulfs your every move
Falling into a deep void
Laughing, crying, weeping, screams
All figments of your emotions
Imagination running wild
You go inside

See ya next time for Pt 3.
