Ah, angsty teenage years. We all had them. We all cringe at the thought. But really, we should just laugh. It will make you feel better.
We all had those times in our lives where we just want to be ‘different’ and such. The joys of the adolescent years. Eww, indeed. I look back on those days (which are getting further away.. quite fast), and reflect. Especially now, having a toddler son. I keep thinking, is he going to act like that, too?! I shudder at the thought. But then, I start reminiscing about my teenage years, and I start laughing. I was.. pretty ridiculous. And quite the angsty poet. I still have a nice ‘book’ I started of random poetry. I’d carry around a little notepad and start writing whenever I felt the ‘flow’, or whatever. I was such the pretentious bastard, hahaha.
And now, I’m going to treat you to a little taste of what I wrote. If anything, its so you can get a good laugh. In this economy, lord knows we could all use a laugh.
Close
This distance is far
Time makes it worse
I feel the pain inside
Even when I close my eyes
Why can’t you be close?
Instead of a million miles away
Here with me
Here I my arms
Missing you hurts too much
Why can’t I get over you?
You treated me so horrid
I know you don’t miss me
Or even notice I’ve gone
But still I pine
This is so stupid of me
Why bother
I guess I don’t
You’re not close to me
Anymore.
Are you laughing yet?
Burning
Flames rushing through my skin
The dangers are so near
We see every single dying light
Our red blood boiling at sight
Truth be told
Fire I behold
My life is at bitter end
Bubbling flesh rising high
The stench of oily scalp
My heat has peaked
And I rise above it all
We see all that is known
In the fire of life
It is ending now
Burning our souls
Eternal existence is wrong
Yeah, it was bad. But I’ll save more for part II.
