Trying to finish college is difficult when you work full-time.

wikipedia

Winter break is here

No more professors

No more  late night crams

No more  scary exams

No more late students

letting the door slam

I am a tired college girl

I don’t want to travel

my nerves are unraveled

I know my limit, and I am at it

I want to just quietly sit,

soon I’ll have to  recommit.

I am a tired college girl

I love the peace and quiet

Just me, here in my room

alone, with the air  that

doesn’t make a sound

my peace is  profound

I am a tried college girl

Winter break is just a tease

January take your time, please!

I want  more time to be at ease

I want to sit and watch the trees

I am a tired college girl.

Education is my passion

Getting my degree is my goal

a few more semester and

my dream will unfold

but, in the meantime

I am a tired college girl

I am beyond exhausted, but I am proud of myself for finishing this long winter semester. I worked all day and headed off to school several nights a week. Until last Wednesday, the last day of school, I was a mess. The reward is, I passed all my classes with As and Bs. This Friday, I will again be free; school, my job, will be closed for winter break. I am so happy to not have to travel anywhere for awhile Thanks for reading

Good for you Tired College Girl. You worked hard – now play hard. Enjoy your break, but dont try and do everything. Preserve some strength and rest for the Winter Semester. Keep up the good work and keep us posted. Thanks for sharing this heartfelt poem. Get some rest!

This is one of the best poems I have read on this site. You did an excellent job of writing. You have a lot of writing talent and good luck with the rest of your college life.

I use to tire even while going to school and at young age we do have good energy but again we spend much.

  • Anuradha Ramkumar on Dec 15, 2010

That was very nice. Don’t quit, take a break.

Oh, Sugar…this was a tremendous accomplished summation explaining the reason behind your weariness…this is a great peek into the pressures faced by students faced with the suty and writing of semester exams…obviously hard work has paid off for you…Congratulations…enjoy the break as a time to re-charge the batteries for next semester when once again you will shine…thanks and take care…
