A
Look
At
THE
DOT.

I have not yet worked out what it is called

when you get TITTLES in your in-box, like I have been getting  ha ha ha ?????

Laughing my wee arse off here, I know you wont understand what I am on about ,BUT I do…

So this moved me to take a closer look at the DOT.

The name of a DOT on top of a I or J is called a TITTLE.

I like to say TITTLE sounds funny to me when said.

There are so many different uses and meanings  of the  DOT.

Name=Dorothea  and Dorothy.===Shortened === Dot

You can refer to a child as a wee ===DOT.

Telegraphy === they come in Morse code=== ……. DOT ……. … …. …. .. . …

A DOT at the end of a sentence is called a full stop.

A minute or small spot is a === DOT.

 Informal on the DOT === precisely; exactly at the time specified.

Cookery ===  To sprinkle with dabs of butter, margarine, or the like === DOT the filling with butter.

 Connect the DOTS  is a game played, or connect the tittles,Lol.

Landscape === to study or diversify with or as if with dots marking land with lined trees === DOT.

Department of Transportation === DOT.

Music === A point placed under or over a note to indicate that it is to be played staccato === DOT.

Mathematics ===  A decimal point === DOT.

Law === Civil law a woman’s dowry === DOT.

Computer Science === . com === DOT.

Dots on a dice and dominoes === pips

Song === Itsy Bitys Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini.

Three DOTS at the end of wording is called ===  Ellipses, indicating unfinished thought.

The forth DOT at the end of a sentence === indicating === Final end.

And I dear say one hell of a lot more.

Busy is the Dot in our language.

So remember your TITTLES, very cute word.

    “Ah! you are so great, and I am so small,

    I tremble to think of you, World, at all;

    And yet, when I said my prayers to-day,

    A whisper inside me seemed to say,

    “You are more than the earth, though you are such a dot;

    You can love and think, and the earth cannot!””
