I have not yet worked out what it is called
when you get TITTLES in your in-box, like I have been getting ha ha ha ?????
Laughing my wee arse off here, I know you wont understand what I am on about ,BUT I do…
So this moved me to take a closer look at the DOT.
The name of a DOT on top of a I or J is called a TITTLE.
I like to say TITTLE sounds funny to me when said.
There are so many different uses and meanings of the DOT.
Name=Dorothea and Dorothy.===Shortened === Dot
You can refer to a child as a wee ===DOT.
Telegraphy === they come in Morse code=== ……. DOT ……. … …. …. .. . …
A DOT at the end of a sentence is called a full stop.
A minute or small spot is a === DOT.
Informal on the DOT === precisely; exactly at the time specified.
Cookery === To sprinkle with dabs of butter, margarine, or the like === DOT the filling with butter.
Connect the DOTS is a game played, or connect the tittles,Lol.
Landscape === to study or diversify with or as if with dots marking land with lined trees === DOT.
Department of Transportation === DOT.
Music === A point placed under or over a note to indicate that it is to be played staccato === DOT.
Mathematics === A decimal point === DOT.
Law === Civil law a woman’s dowry === DOT.

Dots on a dice and dominoes === pips

Three DOTS at the end of wording is called === Ellipses, indicating unfinished thought.
The forth DOT at the end of a sentence === indicating === Final end.
And I dear say one hell of a lot more.
Busy is the Dot in our language.
So remember your TITTLES, very cute word.
