To Be Free.

Wishing I could relinquish all
feeling in this cavity I call
my body.
Longing not to feel love,
aggression, remorse, for
anybody.
I would give away my crimson
heart, and replace it with one that’s
purpling and dark.
All the chemicals would be strewn away.
What I would give to not cry, or frown,
another day.
There is not other way you see
For me to live as though I’m free.
