No vocation is too low when it comes to making an honest living. The elevated and the lowly may be positioned apart, yet, merge together into the common highway of life.

Nothing works better than work itself,
whatever it takes to make a living;
The taking serves a purpose respected,
no matter the status, position and giving.
Freedom of choice of vocation can never
be equal to those, prestigious and high –
The street-sweeper or the President’s man
must count their blessings by and by.
How often do we consider the truth,
life being precious as precious can be;
The lofty and humble are interdependent,
whose souls and spirits are equally free!
How often must we accept our portions,
yet rise above ourselves and succeed;
How often do we express the feeling
that justice may favor not those in need!
How often can we contentedly smile,
even when riddled bv circumstance
Pressing but hard on the spirit and soul;
holding us back when we should advance.
Yet those that work in positions lonely
are those on whom the elite must depend,
For the humble and lofty meet at a point
at which they converge and naturally blend.
There is a time to do what must surely be done;
a time to pause and to contemplate;
There is a time when work must be hastened and yet
a time when work must stop and wait.
But time while fleeting does not stop,
nor does it ever discriminate,
For the soul that labors in distress,
may yet be one that will not wait,
But through its own travail and pain
spurs the flesh to wake up and be
No longer driven, survive unbeaten,
persistent, triumphant; ever so free!
