Waters are rising high above the mountain top
and I’m forever fighting, even at the end of day.
Silver linings are hidden behind the darkened clouds
shadows once formed from rays of sunlight
now blending in as darkness surrounds
impossible to decipher day from night
~
Where peaceful sounds of nature once sang their song
is now this eve replaced with thunder’s roar
to carry on seems a chore; how can one endure so long
before the storm sweeps them from the shore
~
To fight so hard and be inhaled by life’s cloud of funnel
or stay ashore to be swallowed by the raging sea
makes one wonder about this eerie tunnel
the thing called earth that can’t just let you be
~
Waters are rising high above the mountain top
and I’m forever fighting, even at the end of day
No longer asking for the winds to stop
I will embrace whatever comes my way
~
Whenever I hear the storms call my name,
then I’ll just pucker up and kiss the rain.
