What is the actual, real meaning of freedom?

Being free is not always a matter,

Of having few or any restraints.

It’s the understanding that freedom,

Comes with very heavy responsibility.

That one must be mindful of boundaries.

Many things which are engaged in,

Are more than likely to have a cost.

If not one price, then surely another.

So that freedom in itself is tied to barriers.

The ability to cherish the thought of freedom,

Keeps one aware that we must in essence,

Constrain ourselves, all for the sake of freedom.

There’s a vast pool of meaning of freedom. I guess it depends in everyone’s mind set. For me, one’s freedom must not allow him/her to deter that of the other’s. Nice poem. :)

Very well said definition of freedom. Yes freedom has its own responsibilities to take.
