A poem in honor of this kid from my school that I greatly admired.

In the light a path is shown

That went astray and sent you home

A better place is where you roam

You lit a fire inside that showed me the way

In human form, you had the key

To make us laugh and help us see

The humor in everything

You lit a fire inside that showed me the way

You were a good friend, misunderstood

Wore adidas shoes, element hood

Can’t bring you back, wish to hell I could

You lit a fire inside that showed me the way

I cannot seem to comprehend

Such an outcome, such an end

To the Man, a freshman’s friend

It’s hard to think that you have gone

Can’t seem to say goodbye, so long

To what you were or what you’ll be
