Tribute to all Mother, especially my " Nanay"

A night before yesterday,

I forced my eyes to glance at you

Tried to learn by heart every fine lines

On your face,

Below your eyes,

Under your chin.

I tried to connect the sources of your veins,

On your hands,

On your arms,

From your feet,

Between your  phalanges.

I tried, yes, I tried

To assure myself

That  every fine lines ‘though weary

Had shed many tears of joy,

That every veins conveyed many stories

To unfurl,

Of sadness  and triumphs.

I tried, yes, indeed

To grin at every glances that I made;

 breath lightly as I recalled

 the curved of your smiles,

To my every failures…

When I stopped defining life…

Yet, I did not saw defeat on your face.

Last night,

I dropped on my knees,

Engulfed  with  anxiety .

While I struggled to withhold these tears,

To shun myself  from the truth-;

Why  it’s  hard?

To pronounce the word

“I love you”

To YOU Nanay.

Now while I can still hear your gentle voice…

And you can still heed to the sound of my tears.

    Beautifully written poem. You missed your mom, is it? I can somehow feel that in your writing.
