Sometimes people have to leave their country so that they can help build a better one.

To My Native Land

( This is for all the Filipinos abroad.)

To you my beloved motherland

I first saw the light of life

Your beauty lingers in my mind

You prepared and molded my future

sharpen my mind, taught me foreign language

That’s why no worry wherever I go

I want to go back in your arms

‘coz it’s been so long since I left you

I am always missing you

Though I know you’re wounded and sad

I can feel the pain you’re going through

In heart and thought I am with you

But the only one who can cure the

pains and sorrows you’re going through

it’s you and God can cure it

that is why in my little prayers I hope

that in every single dollar that I send to you

could help you ease the pain for a while.

Though your situation now is not good

Through the guidance of our Lord Almighty

With your unlimited natural resources

And our people unite and learn discipline

With a leader with good heart and intentions

Surely we will achieve what we’re dreaming

When these happen, it will be of great comfort

Your children need not to leave you anymore.

Kayat walang pangamba- kahit nasa ibang lupa

Nais ko ng magbalik sa iyong piling

Dahil kaytagal na buhat ng lisanin

Kandungan mo’y laging pinananabikan

Kahit batid kong ikaw ay sugatan at luhaan

Malayo ma’y ramdam ang ‘yong linggatong

Asahang sa diwa’t isip ako’y karamay

Datapwat ang tangi lamang makakalunas

Sa hirap at salaghating iyong dinadanas

Tanging ikaw lang at maawaing Bathala

Kaya sa aking mumunting dalangin-umaasa

Kahit sa karampot na dolyar na pinapadala

Maibsan ang sigid ng pighati kahit sandali

Kalagayan mo man ngayon ay kaypanglaw

Sa pagpapatnubay at gabay ng Maykapal

Sa angkin mong yamang walang kapantay

Pag mamamaya’y nagkaisa’t nagkadisiplina

At nagkaro’n ng pinunong may matapat na pita

Tiyak na makakamit ang minimithing ligaya.

Kapag ito’y naganap- kaylaking ginhawa

Mga anak mo’y ‘di na kailangang lumisan pa.

Nobert, that was wonderful. My dearest friend, Alicia is Filipino. When I had surgery in 2003, I was so sick I could not eat. She came to the hospital with some type of dry cookie she said was Filipino. It was the only thing I could eat for two days. I know she misses her Motherland at times but has made a home here. I am blessed to have her as my friend. A read forward for you, my friend.
