This is a tribute to my beloved parents, one of whom is no more with me.

Without you I wouldn’t have come to this WORLD,

And without you I wouldn’t have made this journey,

For without your guiding hands I would have lost my way,

Through the arduous, painful journey called LIFE.

Without your love, I wouldn’t have met my LOVE,

As without you I wouldn’t have learned to CHERISH,

By respecting you I learned about RESPECT,

And obeying you I have honoured OBEDIENCE.

You taught me the gift of GIVING and SHARING,

And your faith in me taught me to have FAITH,

Your HONESTY, GENEROSITY, COMPASSION and INTEGRITY combined,

Woke me gently from a stupor of defiance.

No doubt, I have made you unhappy and miserable,

While walking this labourious road we call LIFE,

I hope you can pardon me for my errors and ignorance,

For I have learned of my mistakes and about repentance,

You were here at the beginning of my journey,

But we may not be here to bid FAREWELL,

Though miles apart we go yet my heart remains with you,

Wishing you all the best as we bid ‘FAREWELL FOR NOW.’

Below is a youtube video of a song named ‘Anak’ sung by Freddie Aguilar of the Philippines.  It is dedicated to parents and their love for their child. The English version is named ‘Child’ also sung by him. Those who wish to listen to it in English can also find it in youtube. I want the world to know that the original song was in Filipino, the reason I posted the Filipino version here..

What a lovely tribute. It’s amazing just how much responsibility our parents take on and for most of us lucky ones, they do a brilliant job of it!
