TODAY STANDS A TYRANT

Regal, majestic, in bold white she stood,

Symbol – inspiration – lone icon of good,

Laid out – dressed – built to master plan,

She would house leader of such grand land!

City of light – bright with promise and lace,

Bold and beautiful – filled with such grace!

Winds softly blowing cherry scent there,

Dreams of freedom’s promise hang in the air,

Oh, winds of change they are blowing in!

Tides are thrashing – throwing spray in the wind!

Light has turned to dim, dark, dusky gloom,

For freedom’s bright promise might have met doom,

House of white built for executive leader,

Has grayish walls now, and houses a pleader,

In it, the spineless, crass loather of liberty,

His fascist ways bringing quagmires of poverty,

A nation which held such high, bold promise,

Wavers today – giving all to dishonest,

Winds now howl down dark, lonely lanes,

Stench of defilement flows down with the rains,

House of white forever dark stained,

In it today stands a tyrant inflicting this pain!
