What goes through the mind of a toddler when she wakes up in the morning, and finds nobody at home? She walks through the house, and find that it is dark, and her toys and favourite things, all in a mess!

The sun is hot on my face
Who has pulled back the curtains?
It is noisy outside, the birds are singing
So why is Tweety Bird so quiet?
Shhh…Snoopy is still sleeping,
His eyes are always closed
Garfield is glaring at me
So is Mickey Mouse & Barney.
The house is so quiet
Where is everyone?
I stumbled to the kitchen
Why is it so dark?
I walked out to the hall
My drawings are not finished
The colors are all mixed up
My books are thrown all over
Who has torn a page out?
I’ve lost my favorite picture
Who has taken it?

I heard the sound of a door opening
Someone whispering furtively
Robbers, thieves or what, I wonder
‘You’re awake, darling!’
The lights came on, Mummy’s smiling
And Daddy, too, with his gardening tools
“You naughty little girl,
Look at all your colours
You have torn your book,
And threw your pictures everywhere
Mummy”s scolding, but why is she smiling?
I didn’t care; I’m so happy to see them
‘Come here, my little lady’ Daddy said.
I toddled over into Daddy’s arms,
‘Good morning, my little girl,
Happy Birthday – you’re three today’
