Hate
The face of it
Feeding on an acquired distaste
At different differences
With life kept in a suspense
At someone Else’s expense
Other than your own
And did some individual unfairly force himself on you?
Show me how and then hate is proper
Or did some individual take unfair advantage of you?
Show me how and then hate is the rebate
But all these other rules, all made up
To forward hate among fools
I drink not of its cup
Instead, I’ll celebrate
Take a closer step to relate, accept, embrace
All a step removed from mere tolerance-sullen face
That twilight as before the dawn-For MERE TOLERANCE is a vampire
Meant to suck the blood out of fairness’s charcoal charred fires
With a sharp toothed bloody kiss
Acceptance is celebrating a life
Tolerance is stagnating a life
And Justice (being blind) is coming for you too-mere tolerance
To drag that vampire kicking, screaming, shrieking, hissing
Into the sun
