A poem for children, relating to childhood experiences.
Yay! Friday is over, the weekend is here
Tigers, Koalas, all you can be near
As for tomorrow we go to the zoo
I can bring a friend, but who?
Lying in bed, I think of the next day
The gentle giraffes, the tiger cubs; wanting to play
Thoughts of animals and candy float in my head
Thinking of lush forests, I drift off to bed
Dreaming, animals are dancing on the forest floor
Off in the distance I hear a lion’s roar
Spotting a toucan, I jump on a rock
Then I am awakened by my alarm clock
Yay, the zoo, we made it…
Don’t worry – I’m only tired a little bit
Look at the animals in a heap…
Who am I kidding…I need some sleep
