An extraterrestrial that got temporarily stranded here.
Wrong turn
Fell down to Earth,
Blaze of flaming debris;
Not sure where it was
Had to fit in anyway.
Finding sustenance,
Trying to comprehend
An insane world attacking itself.
Managed to fit in well enough,
Formulated suitable disguise;
Found a subject willing to talk –
Began to gain an understanding.
Species balanced on sharp edge
Of expansion or self-destruction,
Teetering this way, then that way.
End occurence not certain…
Not wanting to stay,
See the ugly outcome,
It managed to escape finally,
Rescued by its’ fellows
In a daring nighttime foray.
