Poem about reaching a major milestone in my triond writing life.
Top Target Reached
When I began the long, long, journey down the triond writer’s rocky path
I knew some days would frustrate me, incur my senseless wrath
There were going to be heart-aches, as I set myself the difficult, small task
Of succeeding as a contributor, it did not seem that much to ask
That people take time to view my writing, pass a comment if they would
Only feedback can help me to get it right, and I knew deep-down that I could
But nothing was quite what it seemed on the site, viewers were like hens teeth
In spite of the creative effort I put in each day, it seemed to beggar belief.
I posted each day, and promoted the efforts on social sites for all I was worth
Yet seemed that the viewing public were set on not giving me reasons for mirth
There were days filled with positive comments galore, but not those important clicks
That represented viewers looking at ads on, my posts. The whole box of tricks
Was not going according to plan, yet the views were starting upwards to go
New software I used was making a difference that was finally starting to show
I had set myself some targets when starting out, seven months before
Goals that depended on readers appreciating my writing efforts galore
Somehow, four months passed and I was at five hundred posts , fifty thousand views
Viewers were gradually realizing that my work was the stuff they should choose
And finally, after an ocean of waiting, I laid to rest all those nagging doubt ghosts
When the one hundredth thousandth visitor clicked, on one of my brilliant posts.
