A poetry dedicated to all loving people who are tough enough to maintain a long distance relationship and brave enough to follow their heart despite all odds. The intention of the writer in writing this piece is to tansform it into a song that will be interpreted by either Reba McEntire or Taylor Swift..Its my dream to write lyrics and who knows…..

Baby  it’s a journey

I set aside my fears

Want you to be near me

To cast away my tears

I’m longing for your touch

And feel your kiss again

Just missing you so much

Its driving me insane

So I bravely took this train

To a place called  Hackettstown

And relieve this aching pain

That I brought upon my own

Seemingly forever

Not seeing you for long

You came out from nowhere

In me  now you’ve grown strong

Afraid to let you know

My life turned upside down

Baby this love for you

Its lifting me from ground

So I’m taking on this ride

Just to follow where you are

Coz I want you by my side

And no matter how too far

Now at last I hold you tight

We’re both locked in warm embrace

Baby what a  sweet delight

We’re together face to face

And when all of this is done

I just want to let you know

That one day when I am gone

Baby I just love you so…..

I am glad you put at the front of this that you had in mind writing it like a song. I would not have judged it that way otherwise.

Your topic is a good one, so I think you could do well writing lyrics, so long as you mix up your wordings once in awhile, and make everything you say as unique as possible. Lyrics these days have less and less imagination in them, more “baby”s and “soul”s and “passion”s, etcetera. The way to be good at writing lyrics is to write something no one else has written yet. I like your title, but while that is unique, almost every line you wrote is an expression I have heard somewhere else.

Avoid cliches, or use them sparingly. Use a thesaurus. It’s a very handy reference that I suggest EVERY writer gets. Check out my article Too Cliche to learn more…

Thanks for sharing, and have a good day.
