Answering to question raised during question hour here at National Assembly on Friday, Federal minister for Railway said that the trains whose revenue is 50 per cent less than expenditures would be closed soon. He said that 42 engine of Railway are out of order due to absence of essential parts while the parts are being exported.
He said that when Finance ministry would issue bailout approved by Cabinet, then new engines would be purchased. He said that in the past 36 trains going into deficit were closed in wake of Railway crisis while more such trains are being closed. He said that we have passengers of long routes
He said that Railway ministry had received revenue worth of Rs 30.6 million due to selling of platform tickets during 2009-10.
He said that 3622 railway employees have been sacked under termination ordinance issued in 2000 out of which 851 have been reinstated.
