From winter windows………….
Shut off the lights
my unblemished voyeur
and observe
from a hotel off Central Park.
Gaze out across the avenue
at modest boxes of windows
in middling boxes of rooms
in massive boxes of buildings.
Shut off the lights
my untarnished voyeur
and observe
during the holiday season.
Glimpse the tales around us
the varied lives unfurl
in this festive colour
and gentle snowflake fall.
Shut off the lights
my unblemished voyeur
and observe
in this place named after a bird.
From our own fleeting
modest box of windows
in a middling box of rooms
in a massive box of a building.
