Arriving in a new place you find what you left behind.

It’s always the same
When you pack up your things
Travel only in name
Leave back your belongings

Tears to forget
Like pearls in your memory
A frozen locket
Now part of your armoury

Trailing your past
On an unhappy string
You are willing to last
Take your steps with a spring

You keep to the road
Going steadily forward
Ignoring the load
Getting more and more laggard

Until you are
Where you wanted to be
Though it is far
You need it to see

Now that you’re gone
Your heart should feel lighter
No coming dawn
The clamp just got tighter

Going head bent
You can’t shake the feeling
In a circle you went
You stare at the ceiling

As cold as snow
Lye memories on you
Wherever you go
You take yourself with you

Though you wanted to flee
All the bad things that were
In the mirror you see
You, an unhappy cur
