The case was dismissed.

It made her sick,

she felt as if she was hit

by a brick,

her heart was aching,

her voice shaking,

it was a horrible travesty of justice,

she thought the evidence

against him was strong,

she was wrong,

and the court room was quiet,

he looked back at her with a sheepish grin,

she had pain in her eyes,

her spirit cries,

he smiled with contempt,

and she stared at him,

appalled,

freedom called,

and he answered it so proud,

the voices in her head grew loud,

her heart stopped,

when the murder charges were dropped,

like a snake she hissed,

but sadly,

she couldn’t do anything,

because the case was dismissed.

A scene played out too often in many court rooms, I am sure.
