What are the real riches in our life? Is it the money or the rare expensive possessions we have? Can these things give us that ultimate happiness in life? These things do not have life.

Treasures are not only things we can touch,
They are spirits deeply felt and not bought;
Riches they are – not things we can exchange or trade,
But moments unforgotten in our thoughts.
My mother who cared for me – a helpless child,
My father who taught me how to be wise;
My older brother who protected me from harm,
And the sister to whom I can tell no lies.
A friend who’s always there whenever I call,
The teacher who taught me to stand tall;
The pastor and the nun who prayed for me,
The nanny who cared when I was small.
My dear old grandpa who never said “no,”
And dear old grandma who cooked my food;
The funny uncle who helped me fixed my bike,
And the lovable aunt who never failed to give me a hug.
My noisy cousin who never ran out of tricks,
My neighborhood playmate who was fun to be with;
My little nephew who put smiles on my face,
And my little puppy who welcomes me when I come home.
Moments with them cannot be forgotten,
These are the times that only I can keep;
The rarest of the rare gifts only God can give,
Meaningful moments in a meaningful life – that is all we need.
