A poem I wrote for my grade nine ELA9 Adv class.
What makes all the trees so great?
It must be all the different shapes
A tree is something no one can hate
If only man and tree could mate
Don’t fall down a tree or you’ll get a scrape
What makes all the trees so great?
The cavemen would draw trees on slate
Lumber factories and workers should be charged with rape
It must be all the different shapes
Some trees are curvy, some trees are straight
Some trees grow fruit, but not grapes
What makes all the trees so great?
There are different trees in every state
The study of trees can make your mouth gape
It must be all the different shapes
Trees are fading away, it must be fate
This may be the only thing we can’t fix with tape
What makes all the trees so great?
It must be all the different shapes
