On the afternoon of 03/11/2011 Japan suffered her worst Earthquake in over 150 years. The quake measured 8.9 and created a series of tsunami waves that devastated the coastal settlements of Northern Japan, pushing inland as far as 12 kilometers and sweeping entire towns away. The death toll at the moment is completely immeasurable, believed to be in the vicinity of 10 – 20,000. This is a Tribute to Japan, her people and her Samurai spirits, who will live on and find something positive truly comes from every disaster; in lessons learned, or in the coming together of nations to help, or perhaps in just the significance of a simple haiku.

The First Tsunami Wave.
This Tribute is represented by an Abstract of the moment that the first tsunami wave hit the coast of Japan. This Tribute to Japan: Samurai Spirits Live On ♦ Original Haiku by Pearldiver ♦

Our seas erupt once more
Not Fuji’s old pains as before
Dead fish on the hills
o0o
We will rise again
For our sons and daughters lost
Spring tides too early
o0o
We share our tears
We live by our Bushido
Dignity never dies
o0o
Samurai Spirits
Live on like cherry blossoms
Dead fish on the hills.
