Triond Misses Me

I’m so lucky, I received a message in the mail.

Triond said they miss me

Hadn’t written in a while

So here I am writing

Hope it gives you a smile

It’s always nice to be missed

Even if it’s a routine check

Almost as good as being kissed

Not quite but what the heck

So I jotted down a few words

As you can tell

And if they don’t like it

They can all go…

Well no I can’t say that

As of course you know

They’ll throw me out

Into a clearing in the snow

So this is all I could think of

I hope it makes their day

Not heartfelt or full of love

Just all I have to say

I get those messages from time to time especially when I’m working on a special project. I’m just thinking. Hey! when I’m done I’ll post. Can’t rush art.

Hi Nina, good to see you in here. I’m always glad to see a good writer show up on my news feed. A bit cheeky but still a good poem, made me chuckle. We all get those messages from time to time. Hey, maybe they really do miss us. Hard to get good, quality work from writers these days. I just smile and say thanks, I’m working on it.

I love the message on the dashboard for a few minutes after midnight most evenings: “Holy Content! No one has read your content today! You should submit something – you low class loser you!” OK, I paraphrased a bit, I can’t remember the exact quote. It is 11:04 here in the Central Standard time zone, and tonight I am going to bed before midnight.
