Trionds Nasty Rumor a poem by Jennifer Jo Fay. A poem about what I have read about a rumor today that hopefully isn’t true, but people should be aware.
Rumors tend to spread fast.
Triond’s Nasty Rumor
I arrived here this morning
intent on writing a poem.
My thoughts got detached
first upon the two cent increase
in the earnings.
Which I really shouldn’t have been
shocked.
Then what startled me more
was one writer’s article
about what he read about Triond.
The article was simply stating
that Triond was selling our
articles to publishers
and then that means
that those publishers
have the sole rights to our stuff.
I was bewildered
and kept reading
as the guy said his goodbyes
as he couldn’t write anymore
for a place that sells our stuff
to other people who
can then call it their’s.
It’s ours, we wrote it.
We have the sole rights to it.
Although Triond has the right
to publish it, advertise and earn
mega bucks in the revenue
and can control it so we only
get diddle pennies in our pockets.
So I left Triond for part of today,
and sent an email in hopes
that the matter gets cleared up
and that it really isn’t true.
Perhaps it was someone else who
stole them and is selling our stuff
away.
He or she should be caught and punished.
I have decided not to write
any more poems of substance
until Triond can respond to me
to relieve my worries.
But I thought this would
be the appropriate poem
on a day like today.
