First hit by the author’s hated food of fish moving on to a sensual tasting of chocolate cake dessert.
Wafting from the heated hell,
bitter smoke and whirling steam
swimming slowly up my nose
the repugnant fishy smell
swelling sickness I can’t quell.
Landed gawping on the plate,
its popped eyes staring out
from crusted stalks enlivened
by silver slimed scales, waiting
for your fork to permeate;
Breaking through the skin to see
splintering shards of texture
that choke my throat. Flavour
darts into my mouth searing
senses which long to be free.
Now, from the devil’s delight
comes, what I hope to be, a
saviour for my harpooned tongue.
My hopes arise for what might
bring a sensual ignite.
My taste buds tingle to
answer the sweet aroma
of chocolate fudge cake .
Its rich scent seeps slowly through
to give dining a new hue.
A dark desert island floats
in a sugar yellow sea.
Its silky covered surface
entices you on. And, devotes
itself to all of your hopes.
My lips wrap slowly around
and my teeth delve into
the warming, moist, dimpled sponge.
Fudge and chocolate have found
my world briefly dumbfounded.
To eat is pain and pleasure.
Hell and heaven together.
Served to you on a plate
food for senses. A mixture
you cannot help but measure.
