Advice.

A dinner date once again postponed
Not by you
Or me
But by that darn aforementioned force that seeks to deceive
You put in that call
I begged you to wait
You told me to hang on
We’d still have our date
You knew something was off
But you kept talking to “her”
You didn’t realize that the more you spoke the less lucid you were
Weeks ago I told you to be cautious
But I never thought this possible
How could I have known things were so bleak that a force so evil would mimic the words you’ve so often heard your mother speak?
You should’ve hung up when you felt the urge to
I kept screaming your name but you didn’t hear me
Did you?
Darling, your gut feeling doesn’t lie
Trust your intuition from now or off will go the light in your mind
