A poem dedicated to all those that lost their lives to tsunamis,
And to those left behind who are trying to piece their lives back together.

Tsunamis.

Children playing along the shore

their faces filled with pleasure

Under rocks and every stone

they search for hidden treasure

Moms and dads sit on the beach

reading books and papers

Lovers strolling hand in hand

oblivious to sunbathers

Surfers skating on the sea

enjoy the waves they ride on

Bathers splash and trash about

in tepid pools of water

Fishing boats out on the sea

in search of shoals to capture

Quite unaware of danger

thats bearing down upon them

A mighty wave comes rushing in

in a towering wall of terror

Crashing high upon the shore

it changes life for ever

All those lives lost to the sea

in a moment of mass murder

Now people searching high and low

their loved ones to recover

The pictures we see on tv

both sadden and amaze us

What monster did this awful deed

A monster called tsunami.

I like how you made aware this awful destructive force of nature that we have no control over. Nice!
