Sometimes the heart and brain do play tug of war. The heart may tell you something different than the brain. It can be confusing. You must listen to both in order to be prepared to make the right decision.

Take heed to what

your heart is saying,

but keep in mind

that there will be times

that your brain

will want to weigh in.

The heart and brain

will often play tug of war.

The winner all depends upon the score.

One day the brain will be ahead.

The next day the heart

will be in the red.

Confusion sets in

as to which one will win.

You may want to cry,

but what does that solve?

You may want to leave,

but look at what that may involve.

My advice is to consider

a little bit of each,

because the heart and brain

have a lot to teach.

For that reason,

remember to take heed to what

your heart and brain have to say.

It will equally pan out

making things easier along the way.

DB…tough decision and choice trying to listen to both the heart and the brain…it is like serving two masters – scripture says it can’t be done because you will adhere to one and shun the other…a very fine line to follow and is so easy to trip up and fall. Tremendous care must be taken is taking leads from both and sifting out that which is to be discarded and retaining the value of the combined benefits…no easy task. You have tackled a difficult subject, but overall have handled it in a professional manner. I have voted that I Like It…the poem is very well written. Thanks for this tremendous effort.

A very beautiful subject to the poem. I liked it. You are right, you will have to listen to both brain and heart depending on the situation you are in.

So true. I’m often torn between what my heart and brain want, and what I’m actually allowed to have.
