We’ve all had a turning point somewhere in our lives when we realize we’re headed in the wrong direction, or following someone who is headed in the wrong direction.

We’ve traveled a long way, you and I

Some roads very low, and others high

In your mind the good times outweighed the bad

I’m thinking the whole trip has been rather sad

You strayed from the path much more than you should

While I waited by the fire (I had to chop wood)

Hoping and praying for your safe return

As night closed in, needed more logs to burn

Strange how you can’t seem to find your way

When the path has been marked and we travel by day

You insist on going in the wrong direction

And hoping your missteps will avoid my detection

Sorry to tell you I’ve noted them all

And night once again is threatening to fall

We come to a fork in the road and I say

This is where I turn off and go my own way

My future no longer will be tied to you

I’ll be free to do what I want to do

To walk on the path that by God has been laid

No longer regarding your attempt to dissuade

Me from the purpose I was born to fulfill

All laid out before me as new ground to till

I wish you the best and I wish you Godspeed

But I can no longer follow your lead

    thanks dont worry

To realize and seek the turning point is in itself a turning point,
very well expressed, another great poem from you Andrea.

    Andrea
a wonderful poem, paths and folks are there to teach, as long we learn while on them is a great achievement .

Yes my friend you can lead a horse to water but will he drink? Great post sometimes waiting and hoping that other will change is a very draining process and then we realise that it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s time to let go.

You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink, sometime we just have to let go. Good post.

Great poem, Ashan! We’re all are created with a path to follow, some people have almost the same path while others do not, we can only go the Way we must go, like nature, we do what we do, as God’s creation often do…..and our own path we lead us true.
