My Remake of the Classic Poem.
There’s a hollow tree in a path
Laying in the woods, A riverbed
Facing north a statue feeds
Now it stares into the night, Retreat
A shadow forecasts itself upon the sun
In a moment of weakness the stars hide
When light hits the statues purpose
The tree stiffens in response
A special growth proceeds to grow
Feeding on the essence of life itself
Giving a lie to distract from
The eclipse meant to weaken so
A blatant attempt at perfection
A last resort at redemption
But nothing is forever changed
Because the dichotomies remain the same
A path diverged in a wood
And I chose the path less traveled by
Two path’s to follow
Both lead down to uncertainty, In time
Scream, Scream, An echo’s belief’s
Faint, Faint, A last respect
Feed, Feed, Before you crumble
Leach, Leach, A self indulgent disease
Feathers on a dream-catcher
To ward off the bad sentiment
Feeling nature’s blessings
Revenge is in her lament
As you proceed to walk the journey
A vine pierces your soul
As if to tell you something
As if to tell you something’s wrong
A glimpse of death and decay
Could this be the subtle meaning?
A field of roses and healing rain
Could this be the subtle meaning?
Subliminal, Yet intrusive
So distant, Yet so seductive
The path you choose is up to you
But the consequences can be destructive.
