Being by yourself can be hazardous to your health while alone in the wilderness.

One day while hiking in the forest

To enjoy the wonders of nature

I was miles from civilization

Just me and the beauty of various wild creatures

There were two sounds I could not identify

The first noise was in front

While the second seem to be trailing from behind

The thought of danger quickly cross my mind

A wild animal or beast would like me for a feast

Perhaps it might be a burglar or thief to rob me

I was in the worst place because I was by myself

I did not have a cell phone or scream out for help

I look for a way out if I need to escape

So I started to walk quickly and speed up my pace

Because I could not identify this unknown noise

My security was in question with these hazards around

I felt trap without any help

It was not smart to travel by myself

I reached inside my backpack I carry

The last defense from a potential threat

I was worn out from the fast walk and hike

I wish I had brought my brand new motor bike

I stop to rest and gather my strength

I felt this would be the moment I would be bit

Then outburst a group of friends from the brush

They were hidden from me – just clowning around

It taught me a lesson I never will forget

To avoid being in situation like this
