Overeating at Christmas. I suspect I am not the only one.

With the festivities now over

And the year near its close,

I feel so over fed

I can barely reach my toes.

All that turkey and trifle

The nuts and chocolate,

I feel quite ashamed

At the amount that I ate.

My recent sylph-like form

Has begun to look chubby.

I’ve developed more curves

To the delight of my hubby,

So now I must starve,

No more goodies or booze,

But the only way I’ll do it,

Is to take a twelve month long snooze.

Couldn’t help smiling. You have 12 more months to bring it down before it goes for a spike.

  • Freethinking on Dec 29, 2010

And, and, and there is still New Year’s Eve food and, and, and New Year’s Day food and, and, and oh shoot, I have blood work and a doctor’s appointment next week. Oh well, another test I’m going to fail. Happy New Year!!!!!

  • Roe2115 on Dec 29, 2010

  • CHAN LEE PENG on Dec 29, 2010

Because the food tempted you to eat more. just drink some tea to reduce some fat.

  • LoveDoctor on Dec 29, 2010

LOL. I have been stuffing myself too. I am in NewYork now and have been dining out and drinking wine for several days now. There is still New Year’s Eve to celebrate. Happy New Year!

This is a great poem, so many people go through the overdoing it at holidays so i’m sure a lot can relate. I tried not to go too overboard, but I worked out on christmas anyway.
Thanks for sharing your very well written poem!

  • Bloom Again on Dec 29, 2010

Christmas comes only once – why not indulge.

I kept on accidentally eating Xmas Cakes that were meant for my friends and visitors.

    Great share.

Hi mam, poem is a sweet one, but I don’t think you should starve; as you will look as fabulous as ever even if you developed curves. Now how I know ….as I never met you….well I know…thats all…wish you a warm, healthy and happy new year.

  • Val Mills on Dec 30, 2010

Oh Christine, join the rest of us!

  • Starpisces on Dec 30, 2010

again a nice poem, but don’t ever starve Christine, just eat moderately, if overdone, only once in a while, nevermind, festive seasons, can be excused for a while.

CR…as usual, another winning piece…if it weren’t for overeating at Christmas most of us wouldn’t have reason to make New Year resolutions! To said you can hardly reach your toes, but what about those of us who can hardly SEE them??? I voted that I like this one and look forward to reading so much more of them in the very near future…thanks and take care…

  • 1hopefulman on Dec 31, 2010
