Some sound motherly advice.

I’m learning how to fly

My Mummy says I’ll be outstanding

She say’s I need to do a little

Practice on my landing

She said to stay low level

And to use my common sense

So I’m practising by jumping

With umbrellas, off the fence

Love it! I’ll let you into a secret … I used to do this when I was a kid, only I jumped off a steep bank in our garden. I hadn’t thought about it until I went to the flicks and saw Mary Poppins for the first time back in the 1960s and I suspect she was the inspiration for many kids to give it a go. You’ll be pleased to hear that I didn’t take it a step further and start poking brushes up the chimney like Dick Van Dyke!
