These thoughts occured to me while walking near the creek watching minnows darting about with their shiny silver gills. Dragon flies flashing their gossamer wings reminded me of stories of fairy queens I read as a child. It was a good day for meditation and poetry.

I wandered to the brook beside the trail,
that runs between the valley and the dale.

The sun shown down beneath the lacy green,
on schools of fish and minnows in the stream.

I watched them from the bank beside the hill,
Transfixed by fish with silver colored gills.

The dragon flies flew low on emerald wings.
Brought to my mind elfin fairy queens .

And I am lost in deep uncharted skies,
Impressions long imprinted on my mind.

Sensations from the past unknown to me,
Collide with long forgotten memories.

Perhaps from many centuries passed and gone
When I an earth bound slug crawled the swamp

Now here I stand in summers golden light,
A miracle with thought to wonder why.
