One that smiles at us
When we are angry
One that prays for us
When we oppose them
One that feeds us
Though we wasted the previous meal
One that lends to us
While we are yet to return what we borrowed
One that sticks their neck for us
When we failed to keep our last word
One that teaches us
Though we are slow to learn
One that tells us the truth
But always in love
One that knows our weakness
But never spites us for it
One that encourages our gifts
And never envious of us
One that disagrees with us
But loves us still
That one’s love is unconditional.
