If you have money to buy presents for your children or beloved ones, then you’d be wealthier than most people. But, speaking from a personal view, I… we and some other families cannot afford such luxuries and may only celebrate the Christmas with each other. Remember to share the love and think of others.
Underneath the Christmas tree
Are supposedly presents
But the mother sighs this year
For that isn’t now, but once.
The children awaiting a surprise
May only cry in silence
For they know about debt
And the worth of the ornaments.
A day’s worth of food
Used to buy pleasants…
When have you thought of poverty?
Or donating a few cents?
People could be dying right now
Because of money and its absence.
People could be living on the streets
For not keeping up payments.
Help others, because you never know
The future can change within a few moments
All over the world people are suffering
And caring less about Christmas presents.

As a child, a seventh grader, a student with an education and college to pay for, I know how tight our budgets are. I don’t think I will receive a Christmas present this year, but my parents still try to satisfy almost all of my needs. I am very thankful for such a great family and just want them to know that I’m not living and celebrating Christmas for the presents. I hope you have a very happy and merry Christmas with your family.
