This is for everyone who’s struggling, who can’t find work, scraping to find the means to pay for Santa’s ride this Christmas. To those of us who feel a little sinking feeling every time we get a gift, knowing that we can’t afford to give a gift.

I tell people I hate Xmas
I wish that it were true
Because then I wouldn’t care
I have no gift for you

I tell people I hate Xmas
But the truth is I’m just broke
I don’t want to bum you out
So I say Rudolph makes me choke

I tell people I hate Xmas
It’s starting to be true
With no money for a present
You’ll think I don’t like you

I tell people I hate Xmas
And they think I’m a jerk
But it’s because I have no money
Because I have no work

Isn’t it the truth for so many families today. I managed to scrape by again this year. Hopefully next Christmas will be better for everyone.

Yes, it changes your life in a most difficult way when you do not have income, but yet the expectations of normal life just keep on coming. Thanks for a nice poem with simple poetry my brain can appreciate.

This was heartfelt, and I too, found it difficult this year, but the one thing that I have learned, is that giving your time to someone, is more valued than any amount of gifts. Wish that I had taken that knowledge on board years ago…

    “…I gave you a few ad clicks for it ( : ”

Please don’t do that …that is ‘click-fraud’ and can get the author banned from the AdSense program. Google is very strict about this, and they parse patterns so they understand the fake’ or ‘mercy click’ from the genuine ones… fyi
