Another poem by me.
It is the present day,
we all know what they say.
You should always plan ahead,
if you don’t you’ll probably be mislead.
We are the people of the today, the present, the now.
The people who can’t even see past the time we get some chow.
But please make no mistake,
the future will never stop for anyone’s sake.
Time will keep ticking on and on,
and you will most likely already be gone.
You will be gone, with all your regrets still there,
Upon this I will solemnly swear.
If you choose heed these words,
I promise you won’t be called nerds.
You will be among the few who can be glad,
instead of those who will be mad.
You will be able to actually do what you want,
And all those skills you’ve got, feel free to flaunt.
You knew where you wanted to go,
and now look what you have to show.
All your fancy degrees, and skills,
now go out and seek your thrills.
You were the one who worked hard,
now you’re the one with the large yard.
Look at the ones who took the easy way out,
who just lounge around their house and just pout.
The future is unforgiving and cruel,
and it’s just waiting for you to make a fool.
Just do your work and be merry,
then take a nice nap down in the prairie.
