I lost You, but wait for Me I will come. (For Rooney My Cat )I.

I wish I could have got to You in time,
Just to cuddle You and say goodbye,
But when they phoned, You had already gone,
Nothing I could do but cry.

I guess I did not realise,
The pain that You endured,
But now too late, for You have climbed,
The stairway to our Lord.

But Mum knew how much I loved You,
You filled Me with so much pride,
I know She will give You, the same love we shared,
As You now sit there by her side.

I pray You are happy and playfull,
On the other side of the gate,
It’s too soon for Me to leave right now,
But when it’s time… I know You will sit and wait……xx

It is hard to lose a friend, even if that friends is a furry, four legged cat. Sorry for your loss.

I am sorry for your loss. Writing can sometimes be a tribute to a lost pet especially knowing we will see them on the other side of the rainbow bridge when we leave this earth too. I like animals and have had the pain of losing one too. You explained your thoughts well here.
