Being in love with someone you can never really have is one of the hardest things to put yourself through. Do you ever really get over something so powerful that was never fulfilled?
In the shadows of my heart you lurk.
Like an unwelcome guest.
A reminder of promises never kept. A future never realized.
I dream of you often.
Your strong arms capturing my waist.
Your soft breathe like a warm summer breeze.
I wish I could keep myself locked in those dreams.
I open my eyes to the nothingness of the night without noticing the tears on my cheek
.
I wipe my hands over my weary face.
Pulling my hand away my eyes focus on my dampened fingertips.
I wonder if you know the power you hold.
Drifting back to my dreams……. I pray that you will grant me mercy and release my heart.
